Olaf's Legacy

On the 18th November 2019, our much loved Olaf passed away in our arms. He had been sick for a few months with kidney disease and we knew our time with him would be measured in weeks, not years. He was a big old cinnamon Burmese and litter mate to Mokey. His passing hit us hard, but watching Mokey grieve was the worst.

Little did we know that even as he was closing the door on his way out, he was also busy opening not one, but two little windows…

Their names would be Oliver and Lilith and they would be born just two days later.

While the three of them never met, the timing of his passing and their birth has always been connected in our minds and those little balls of fluff would bring us much joy and healing.

This, is Olaf’s Legacy.

Olaf's Legacy is has a simplified ribbed border and is more textural than Olaf's Folly and is knit in 4ply/fingering.

Yarn: 800m of 4ply/fingering weight yarn. I used Silky Humps 4ply for the pictured sample.
Beads: 340 size 6 seed beads.
Needles: 4mm circular or straight needles.
Other: Stitch markers, 0.75mm crochet hook for adding beads, yarn needle, pins (for blocking).
